Marv I did read the intro ....I tend to do that.... but I may have read it in a way I thought it was not as it was written.
I sometimes do that probably from years of scan reading. I will now go back and read it again severely chastised. I'm glad you had your coffee as I would probably still be hiding in fear if you had not. (no emoticons so as to not further upset you mood)

With the greatest of cordial respect - you guys are not seriously suggesting he cut a 64t module .5 gear using choral layout are you???

I'm not suggesting anything, Tel; just correcting the math and English.  BTW, is a "choral layout" a bunch of prostrate singers?
Marv,
Did you mean "prostate" singers?

No, but guessing from your age (two years older than I), that would understandably be in the forefront of your mind.

Just imagine the advanced wisdom accruing from those 2 years!
And, its not in the front.

Just an update to show I haven't jumped ship. I started on a gear yesterday (pics of arbor in the phone as we speak) and it went west.... :headscratch: not a good thing and after some checking I find my dividing head is the problem. The brass bushes are bigger than the shaft by a very little bit .002ish and also not inline  :hammerbash:  so at one point it cut deeper than needed and the gear blank was history. Oh well onwards and upwards and I will make another shaft with more precision after I bore the bushes so they are inline and square to the bore.
