Steam powered water pump plans
« on: January 22, 2025, 12:42:54 AM »
Hello everyone. I am new to this forum but not the hobby. I am retiring in March and will have more time to play. The reason for the post is that several years ago of a double deck 2 cylinder double acting steam engine on the upper deck connected by the crank to 2 double acting water pumps on the lower deck. It had hand rails all around both levels and a feed pump as well. Problem is I cant find the plans anymore. Would anyone know where I can find them, I have been wanting to do this for some years.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks KellTech

A few years ago I  did a three cylinder water pump, could it be that one? It was of the Holley pump from the Buffalo city pump station.

That sounds like one of Elmer Verburg's engines. I have included an attached image of Elmer's #17 Pumper. It does not have a dedicated feed pump that I am aware of, only the pumps driven by the engine. It has a bore and stroke of 5/8" each, and carries a 3" diameter flywheel. Overall height of the engine is about seven inches.
