Hi Also wondering about the mains frequency in The USA is it 50 or 60 Hertz Cycles /second. ?? I thought that the US mains was 120 Volts still wondering .....!!!Willy
Thanks for all the advice! Can it be run from a VFD ? I don’t have 3 phase at home. Certainly wouldn’t want to change the motor out to one that can run from a VFD.ThanksMark

If you can deal with less than perfect then most motors will run on different frequencies, such as the range of frequencies produced by a VFD, or a simple conversion between 50 Hz and 60 Hz. It is important avoid overloading, of course.I would guess that this lathe does not have a huge motor. A possibility is simply replacing the motor with one that matches your existing power feed. Considering the value of this lathe a couple hundred for a new motor is almost in the noise. Probably less expensive than a new VFD.Gene
