Mid East Model Engine Show?
« on: August 27, 2015, 11:34:22 pm »
Does anyone know if DeBolt is going to have a show this year? I have been checking the web site and haven't found any reference to it.

Maury,
This link:
http://www.deboltmachine.com/id13.html

Gives what is apparently the dates for the 2015 show. Clicking "Show Info" on the sidebar though shows only the info for last year's show.

A little strange, but at end of last show, Paul was handing out fliers for this year's show. I unfortunately gave mine away, so I don't know if the dates jibe.

Setup day is Friday the 16th and the show is Saturday the 17th.

I will be there Friday to setup. I'm bringing just about everything.

I think I will be there, Dairy Expo is that week. We had been planning to go to Mid-Ohio on the way home from PA. but discovered some friends from Costa Rica will be in town for Dairy Expo & I think we're now going on our way to PA.

The latest issue of HOME SHOP MACHINIST has a big ad for the show. I am thinking about going- its 840 miles, so it a major trip for me, but I am feeling the urge for a road trip so I think I will do it. I need to find a couple other things to see along the way- Ive been to the Grizzly store in Muncy several times. Anyone know of nice shops to visit between Maine and Ohio?

Thanks guys, I was planning a family visit in Indiana, so thought I'd try to plan it for timing with the show. I haven't been to this one, it's a long way up from Texas for a 1 day show. Thinking I might see y'all there.

I will be there. It is just a hop, skip and a jump from Columbus. Have a couple new items. Looking forward to seeing everyone. I really like that show. Very friendly folks and an all around good time.

Ron,
Its not really very machine shop'y but if you haven't seen it the Auburn, Cord, & Duesenberg museum its worth it. Unless of course you don't like classic cars. It's in Auburn, Indiana. http://www.automobilemuseum.org/#home.html

Hi Ron,
The Warther museum in Dover, Ohio has the carvings of the late Ernest Warther. All done by hand in hardwoods and ivory it's something to see. In the Cleveland area there is the Western Reserve museum which houses the Crawford auto collection. A little farther west is the Wright Patterson museum of aircraft.
