Large Steady Rest for a 9X20
Bill Gruby:
In order to turn a crankshaft for an engine I am building I needed a larger Steady Rest than the one supplied with the lathe. I fabricated this one from 7075 Al, 303 SS and brass. It is hard anodized black.

Bogstandard:
Goodness me Bill, that is nearly as big as your lathe.
But if it does the job you require it to do, then it is perfect.
Nice work. :NotWorthy:

Jo:
Wow, that steady looks man enough to keep anything under control.

Bill Gruby:
Kind words are always appreciated, thank you. It will hold stock from .375 dia. up to 3.125 dia. The stock SR that came with the lathe would barely go above 1.250.

vcutajar:
Now that is big. Is that for the radial engine?
