Great progress!....the right up in Projects in Metal used "Tommy" bars instead of ball handles.

Dave, with that base you can mount it to the lathe bed and use the cross slide as a compound table, or mount it on the cross slide for drilling into pieces held in the chuck. Should it take your fancy!
