Today I found time for the crankshaft and prepared a piece of round material in the lathe and shaped it on the milling machine. Then back to the lathe reduced to the final diameter. I wanted to cut the crank directly from the shaft with the parting tool, but I sawed the last bit by hand.
The other side was made to size on a jig.
I actually wanted to glue with Loctite, but then soldered with silver.
It didn't look that good at first but after cleaning it I think it was a success.

Totally successful - very nice silver soldering. More satisfying than using loctite.

The piston, piston rod and crosshead are finished.
All parts made of stainless steel. This makes cutting threads exciting, but with a little feeling and oil it worked well.
I tried to make the piston and crosshead as accurately as possible. So a good fit in the cylinder and the crosshead raceway.
But the threaded connection causes it to get stuck. Thread just doesn't center. I think I won't tighten them all the way and secure them with Loctite screws.

I tend to leave part  of the reduced diameter unthreaded and partially drill the piston to fit that which helps keep things lined up. Also leave the piston a little oversize then hold by the rod in a collet to bring it to final size.

This little connecting rod was again very fiddly.
First worked on in the milling machine but then a lot of manual work with the file.
The salad bowl is filled with individual parts.

Hello Charles,
Before the bowl was filled with engine parts, there were sausages, corn, peas and spicy sauce inside. Yes, it is called “gentlemen’s salad” here.

Do you also have such uncomfortable weather? Rain, wet and cold!
Luckily it's warm in the workshop and I was working on the little Stuart 10.
I made a mistake on the connecting rod. Both eyes pierced with 2 mm. But there has to be a thread on one side. I glued in a piece of brass and drilled the M 1 thread. The lid got its “S”. That could stand for Stuart but maybe also for my last name Simon 😁.
Then there was still some time for the bronze slide valve. The main parts now go to painting.
