Another Simple Single Acting Engine

At least it's running, so hopefully some adjustments will keep it running for longer 

Cheers  Yeah, I spent an hour on it this morning and it's running fairly consistently now at about 15psi. In this video I turned it down until it stopped at a bit under 10 psi so we're getting there. Might also be better once I've made the little oiler/retaining pin for the eccentric.

Made at little oil cup for the eccentric, drilled some holes in the con rod to reduce its weight and filed a ~1mm deep relief at the crank disc end to minimize friction. Made a simple wooden base with recesses for screw heads and put some holes in the corners of the metal base for fixing.

Need to sort out the ugly nut on the valve linkage and do something about the shape of the standards which are even too brutalist for me!

It runs ok at just a few psi now, here it's registering below zero on the compressor scale (which is clearly not very accurate!) and being turned completely off.

Thanks guys  Just waiting on some more screws to fasten it to the base and it'll be done.

I think that's just about it, could really do with some attention to detail like excess solder removing and surfaces polishing up etc but it's just another experiment really.
