Beautiful Boat and Clinker build too => I'm back in my childhood 
Though Granddads where longer and everything above the waterline was a dark clear lacquer - inside and out.
His also sailed amazingly well with a Johson 5.5Hp outboard and seated 7 person with ease.

Building a boat is my favorite way to work with the brown stuff, and this one gave my great-grandfather's planes, chisel's, and other old school carpenter's hand tools (including the oil stone!) a good work out. It is named the "Frank Russell" in his honor and memory, though he passed before I was born so I never knew him.

But I do also enjoy machining and building model engines.

Continuing to knock out odd little jobs whilst weaving around all the usual summertime distractions and occasional heat induced torpor.

Most important visually, the “monobloc castings” have finally had their ends rounded off to complete the H-S look. I'm confident all critical machining is complete on them, so felt safe removing the square corners and datum edges.

The intake and exhaust ports have been tapped for the manifold flanges, and the intake flanges have been made.

All the spark plug holes have been tapped; 10-40 along the upper, or inner side of the vee for the live plugs, and 8-32 along the outside for a set of simple dummy plugs turned from hex brass. These latter are smaller and look a bit more to scale; I'll probably make a set to install up top as well for display purposes. For the last photo I plopped them into the larger upper holes for comparison with the live plugs. Also a printed dummy manifold is plugged into the brass flanges.

I like the 3D printed gizmo on the top too!  Is that a permanent fixture? Or will that be redone in metal?

Hi Kim. That gizmo impersonates one of the earlier versions of  H-S intake manifold, and yes, I will be fabbing it up in brass eventually. The real ones were heated with coolant water but mine will be rather simpler. Worst case I'll blast it with a heat gun to help keep the fuel vaporized.

Hope you can steer clear of the heat torpor. (and torpor-edo's)

Thanks CNR! If I can't steer clear I do my best to deal with it by retreating to a shady spot or the AC'd house with a cold beer and a good book!
