I guess Bassett-Loake never made the Twin Tangye and that was an after thought by Mr Edgar Westbury?

BTW - what is German silver, looks very silvery after I cleaned it?

German Silver usually refers to a nickel, copper, zinc alloy, made to resemble real silver but lots cheaper.

This neat Tangye engine looks very nice, another originally rather forlorn model set up for a brighter future of appreciation. I have got ( somewhere) an early 1930's copy or two of the Model Engineer and Practical Electrician magazine which has details of the double Tangye engine , with nice drawings in an older style of presentation, and a few photos.  Designed by Muncaster?, or Greenly?   The ET Westbury version is just about identical to this older model. The double, if well made, does make a handsome looking engine, I've seen a few at exhibitions.  Dave

I didn't know that, I thought the twin was a Westbury design from the outset; it looks great and must be different with 2 governors spinning away!
