MMS Railway NJ?
Sanjay F:
I picked up a cheap little miniature marine engine and was wondering if anyone (especially those across the pond) had any idea of what has been stamped onto the flywheel.
It appears to say MMS RAILWAY NJ although the horizontal on the 'L' has disappeared but there's clearly a gap where it should; any info much appreaciated
BTW it runs like demon and I have to hold it down when speeded up! :)

Is it actually "Rahway", not "Railway"? Thats a town in New Jersey, could be where it was made.

And your pics don't show it clearly, could it be 'MSS'? There is a MSS steam engine manufacturer in Rahway NJ. It makes/made a marine engine...
EDIT: Nope, in the video its clearly MMS, though it appears that the company name did change, or at least people mispelled it over the years. Supposedly was part of Mamod originally.
Sanjay F:
Brilliant TY, funny I thought it was 'Railway' ;D - so part of Mamod, the UK toy manufacturer?? That seems unusual? Have you got any or do you know anyone who has any literature about the company and maybe a picture from an old catalog? I do like these references
I wonder how old the engine is seeing as Mamod started in 1937

I don't have any old catalogs or books. You should be able to find plenty of info online.
