I would do it all on the R/T

Set the angle on the table then just offset by half the diameter of the cutter to do the straight bits

Agree - I do that all the time to cut arcs then lock/offset to do the straight line cuts on the spokes. Key is to get the center of the arcs aligned with the center of the rotary table first.

I finished the expansion link without messing it up! Definitely needs concentration to make these little fellas  :)

It looks like it'll work just need to think about the best way to attach it - I even considered bending the tail so it wraps around the frame or maybe safer and more sensible to make a right angled bracket to fit to the frame and then attach the link to it, that may offer better options for adjustment............hmmmmmmm

Cheers Paul

I went for the bracket option and made the tiny one below; with the addition of a threaded pin and knurled nut the engine no longer slips out of gear

Thanks, I'm glad to have got the practice in making the expansion links as a few engines I've got in the pipeline require them.

I've moved onto the pipework and main issues are around the inlet and the T - piece. Someone has already soldered joints which are meant to be threaded so I'm trying to avoid that if possible. Luckily the pipe threads seem standard sizes so no issues with taps 'n' dies :D

All the leaks are now resolved (I think!) - It was like playing Whack-a Mole, fix one leak and another one would appear.  ::)

I usually fully restore with paint or don't but this was a bit different as I could see bare Ali poking through the paintwork. CI or Brass/Gun Metal with flaked off paint I can do, but bare Ali ..........hmmm, no. Fully bare Ali, yes can do that!  ;D

Anyway the frame and base have been stripped & repainted and she's running with a locking reverse arm
