It's Stuart Hammer time......
Sanjay F:
The fettling is paying off, the new valve has made a noticable difference to the air leakage and all that wasted pressure is now going into the cylinder and increased the power considerably.....
You definitely wouldn't want fingers under it now, you can hear the far more assertive thump and it's actually lifting up the whole assembly hence me holding it down .......... there's still a few bits to go before the starting on the cutoff and lubricator

PaulR:
Nice. That'll crack your nuts ( :LittleDevil:) as well as your fingers.

Very nicely done! Its working well, ready for some walnuts or peanuts in the shell.
Sanjay F:
Thanks folks!
I then moved onto some fiddly bits; the draincocks needed a pair of tiny washers of varying thicknesses in order to get the levers aligned vertically. I made these out of some 1/4" copper pipe drilled out to 3/16" then rubbed down until they both aligned.
I then took inspiration from a Paul R build and decided to 'wing' it with a lever to connect both draincocks (said as a compliment, no offence intended! ;D)
Just a piece of brass rod rounded off at the top with 2 x 12BA holes, nuts, bolts and washers - I need smaller fingers. I was going to knurl the other end, but found some brass balls which were left over from a previous build and thought it would look better/different........
