Laser cutter/ engraver

I'm considering buying a budget laser cutter/engraver and would like to ask other members if they have one or have used one. I will stress that budget is a deciding factor. I will need it to be able to cut acrylic sheet up to 3mm-ish thick, thin wood about the same thickness, and if possible, thin metal. Maybe brass?
Any ideas? The budget is dependant on what the laser can do.

You will need a fiber (NdYAG) laser to cut/engrave metal.  A CO2 laser will cut/engrave acrylic, wood, rubber.  You want an exhaust fan for wood/acrylic/rubber.
