Yes, such a part was used there. Actually not a bad idea. But during the first test run, the engine ran very well in one direction, but when it reversed, it suddenly stopped moving. I didn't think of it right away and was looking for the error in the wrong places. But when I opened the slide box I saw it. the clip is broken or rather it has turned into many small pieces. The engine used to run on steam and the steel clip is rusted.
It's actually logical that something like this has to happen with a slider made of aluminum, a clip made of steel and a slider rod made of stainless steel. Out of necessity, I built a kind of U-shaped sheet metal made of stainless steel and inserted it. The sheet metal is of a size that prevents it from falling out of the slide box. The error could still occur on the other cylinder.
