It's a 3 speed forward and 1 reverse so 4 gears actually. Well not even 4 gear sets as 3rd gear is a straight connection to the input shaft.

As far as lubrication it's like all manual transmissions, the gear oil is high enough that the gears run in it.
Talent unshared is talent wasted.

Someone was asking about the gear selection. While not the same model transmission, the attached photo is typical of the selector box arrangement.

George, wonderful work (yet again!).  Also, thank you for putting it up here, it's been something a little bit different and most interesting.

Great Work.

I had no doubt that this would turn out as well as it did.

So, have you built the fully-functioning differential and rear axle with drive shaft that you need to go with this?

(Consider I just slapped myself for that comment.)

I think the Ford I drove in high school had a transmission like this and the linkage from the steering column would sometimes jam and not shift out of first gear. That's why I had to have those big Channellock pliers with me.

ShopShoe

The Chevy's would do that too...especially if it was really cold outside and the gear oil  was like peanut butter....so you learned to drive in first easy for a mile, and then shift once the gear oil warmed up....at least on my Dad's 1965 C20 pickup....3 on the tree....327 V8
