This is a double-acting horizontal steam engine with a reverser. Most of the engine is made out of brass. The piston, flywheel, rods, crank shaft, eccentric, and all screws are made out of steel. The base plate is a piece of aluminium. The engine is based on the dimensions in the plan for Elmer's Engines #43 but many differing design decisions were made: - the cylinder is made from round brass - the steam chest is soldered to the cylinder - no guide for the connecting rod - mini grips on the reversing lever - painted flywheel with a recess on each side .
