LB&SCR Terrier
« on: June 10, 2020, 09:55:08 AM »
Recently completed LB&CSR Terrier, the loco is scratch built and powered by 12v batteries housed in the tanks and R/C controlled. It is built to Gauge 3 or 21/2in gauge and is 14in long

Looks great and I'm guessing that the paint job mimics the original ...

What a wee beauty! Do you have a track in the yard?
I was cut out to be rich ... but ... I was sewn up all wrong!

No, I don’t have a track I am one of the odd M E’s that derive their pleasure from building models rather than playing with them.

Once I have finished a model and satisfied that it all works, I am happy, then start to think of the next project.

Thanks for the kind comments

I don't consider myself odd (at least not on account of that!) but I too am primarily a Builder rather than a Runner.

It's a beautiful model. But gee...it's got motors and RC control. I sure would love to see a video of it running.

Is there a build log of it?

Zee I don’t have a build log

Yes, Stoudley’s improved green, the story goes that when Stoudley proposed the design of the engine to the LB&SCR board, and as many Victorian engines were painted green he thought he would have an improved version, but as he was colour blind the tone he chose was in fact yellow ochre, and the board agreed, I assume not to offend their chief engineer.

The lining and lettering are transfers (decals) I had made especially for this engine.
I painted the yellow ochre first them made masks for the green areas and finally applied lining.

I have admired this engine for many a year and finally got around to building one, another item struck of the long list of projects to complete
