Class 4 Boiler construction

<< < (2/2)

Stuart:
no stew

it bend very easy just turn up a 5/8 dia bar with a 5/32 grove clamp and pull round with your hand its quite soft   all bent up cold

with collars' ss on and clamped into the header with ptfe rings

as I said the header took some drilling and plugging to get it to function and look as the 12 to the foot one  , its a lot of angled holes

for scale the boiler is about 20 inches long and heavy

as I have said before i build my loco's to true scale if the 12 to the foot has it the 1  1/16 to the has it

the loco if belongs to is about 4 foot long and is now to heavy to lift without the shop crane ( fixed on track above assembly bench )

I will take some more pics I do not detail my build the camera is to expensive to get near the machines like ?2k for the body and ?1K for the lens but i will take some of the static progress

I will get some pics of a vertical boiler I have done fully tarted up with  up mahogany lagging
