Rebuild time for my Upshur single
Art K:
The last guy in the shops covid test came back negative, that's great. I installed the new power supply in the computer and got on joy. :-[ I have my nephew looking for the motherboard to set the computer up properly. Hopefully this wont take long. I want to get back moving on this rod and engine rebuild.

Hi everyone,
I had started this post before covid. After the lockdown I went to 50 hour weeks and remained on that schedule for 2 years, Slowly treading backwards until we finally got caught up. When I went back to 40 hour weeks I still didn't feel very ambitious for a while. On top of that, last November the computer on my mill died and had to be replaced.
I have though gotten something accomplished in that time. I decided I didn't like the design of the side covers. So I went ahead and made new ones with 4 mounting holes, and radius corners.
Here are two covers the good one has a gasket & the bad has blue sharpy marking it. Alongside them are the appropriate tools to push in the crank and cam bearings.
This photo shows the completed covers, one installed the other sitting next to it. I've begun to make some progress and will post more later.

Looks great!
That was the highest rpm Upshur that I have ever seen!
Hope the rebuild goes well.
