Had my colon cancer op on the 10th and all appears to have gone well with my surgeon happy that they have removed everything necessary. Normal recovery time is 5-7 days in hospital, but things are progressing slowly for me and my digestive system is completely haywire at the moment, producing enough gas to run a decent sized engine. Looks like I am going to be here for a while yet but the wonderful National Health Service staff are taking good care of me.
In the meantime, I am following along all the various builds and looking forward to being back in the workshop again.

I'm very glad to hear that Ray, hang in there, it won't be long before you are back to normal. In the meantime, if they upset you, it sounds like you really could f##t flames if you had to.

Get well soon!

Great news   now you 'only' need to do as much exercise as the doctor will allow you to do, in order to get as well as possible - and the older you are the more important this is + the sooner the better :old:

Best wishes

That's really good news Ray!   :) After some pretty major surgery like that, it does take a while to get to running on all cylinders again. It's all about tiny baby steps, but then the steps start getting closer together. As was already mentioned, any allowable exercise will really help, which is usually the last thing you feel like doing.

That is great news, just get lots of rest now. And doodle ideas in a notebook so you will be busy mentally. Speedy recovery.

Glad to hear things look OK.  I'll have some snoop doctor exploring my behind in a month; you never know what the'll find once you reach a certain age.

When I had my colon surgery 35 years ago and was being wheeled down to the operating room, my gurney driver told me that my surgeon was nicknamed the "Rear Admiral".  :lolb:
