Thanks all ,, besides getting back on the duplex feed pump one of the next things will be building a modified Crueby rivet squeezer.. after some back and forth with the master himself decided one could be made to meet the needs,, small brass rivets but many.. and a 6 inch reach.. the outer stack on the boat would have been a a 6ft brass sheet rolled to size with the seam riveted every couple of inches (lots) scaling it gives me a 12inch pipe to make about 2.45" in diameter.. a big for my shop slab of steel has been ordered and the plans for the squeezer have been drawn to meet the needs..the boiler shell will also have quite a few rivets so the new tool will get a work-out

I can't  take credit for the design of the hand rivet squeezer. They have existed in the aircraft manufacturing  world for many decades, powered ones in large manufacturing  too. Mine was based on one that was posted here years ago, I  think  it was by Florian, and he helped me make mine.

needing to make sheet metal lap joints for the stack and boiler shell I looked about for an edge roller tool or the like that would give the shapes required,, Eastwood tools had some panel edge shaping tools that would work but not in the size needed,, they are dies welded onto the jaws of vise grips.. solution, mill my own set of dies.. tested with a vise, did a little more tweaking, they and and a big old vise grips are with a friend to get welded...

Pretty slick! I've seen setups like that on car shows, but they did it with very large hydraulic presses/rollers.

most of the stock I'll be using is .025 or less,, the test section looks ok, may need to make some "chasing" tools if it needs to be refined,, did look right past the cabinet with the rarely ever used arbor press I bought with Xmas money a few years back.. could mill a set dies with guide rods and a spring to fit the press..

waiting on stock and welding,, did more of the shop re-org,, things grouped and sorted in storage boxes,, rack made next to the mill so the spindle lock tool won't go missing,, plus spaces for often used tools,, did do some 40ME threading on the keel condenser fittings, Slim finally realized he only got a plastic trophy and not a raise,, informed he could get replaced by a robot!!! (bonus points if you know where the robot is from)

What are those interesting bits I see sprued up in the last photo, just over Slim's left shoulder?  Will they become new cast bits for Slim to inspect?
