Nice! Does this pump have the extra passages to the cylinder to cushion the end of travel? It has enough ports for it.

this is a 1/96-1/100 event, which puts Slim way out of scale,, but a 1/6th scale rowboat with all the workings hidden could be a fun R/C project

Hopefully he's been boning up on the steamfitter's test?

I built this one several years ago, forget the scale, but action figures are about 1:9? 1:12? Something like that. I found Capt Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swan figures for mine. Had to lighten the torsos to keep the boat from being top heavy, of course Slim would not have that problem!

First run, without the figures:

This model uses a controller for the servos called a 'Rowbot' built by a guy named Alan over in the UK. Don't know if he is still making them, a quick search didn't turn him up but I didn't look too long. It plugs into the receiver on the throttle and rudder channels, and drives four servos to do the up/down and forward/back motions of the two oars independantly, quite clever. When turning, it speeds up one oar, or if sitting still and you steer, it drives one oar forward and the other back, then syncs them up again when moving straight.
EDIT: found this email for him, from 3 years ago:  anola.alan@virginmedia.com

      Great rowboat action with Captain Jack Chris! He rows like he runs!

Clever drive for the oars by the gent in the UK.

If I'd built the boat you'd need a fifth servo for operating the bailing can...(one rated for continuous duty, probably)
