enough playing with that wood stuff for a bit, milled out the crosshead platform for the pump and started the base for the shaft packing.. :cheers:

thanks all.. did some rethink on the pump ends and made some "better" parts.. got the shaft packing and gland parts done,, a full size steam guy is working on some navy worthington duplex pumps and sent a great photo of the shafts and pistons :cartwheel:  Slim was complaining about vacation and raises, he didn't think a hunting trip for groat the floor monster counted as a vacation!!! all I could do was award him "best shop assistant in the shop" this should keep him happy for a month or two!!! :cheers:

Since Slim is obviously extremely thin-skinned (vanishingly so), that trophy is probably good attitude management.

down in the jewelry range again... I'll have a clip holding the flange on the other side while soldering, a little more work on the water passages and it will be time to get things hot!!

my supply of 2-56 hardware was lacking so more is on the way, but lots of other boat parts to work on,, (maybe a shop clean and organize in the mix  :cheers:
