Wow!  Those came out nice.  How long did it take you to make all those?  I assume you made what you needed and then some spares too?

Really enjoying the show here!

about 45 minutes once the wax was melted, they're small so about a 5min cooling time after injection before unmolding..

three sets of parts sprued up, hard to see but they are on wax "spiders" to help get the brass everywhere,, two of them set in investment, the blue mesh is a wax product that melts and burns away but provides channels so the vacuum pump removes gases better during casting..

Getting close to some metal pouring!  Do you use a special alloy brass, or just scrap from normal bars?

first try on a lost wax flask,, the plate section that bolts to the pump body did not cast well, I milled that section off and will  turn and mill the section that will be soldered in place, ( I was kind of worried how to get a good fit with the casting,,) seemed to have some problems getting the dros/slag off the molted brass surface before the pour, will research that a bit tonight as will try to pour the pump body next..

why not much work as of late.. over 2 weeks ago I noticed my right eye was having problems, off to my very excellent eye guy and found I had developed a " Posterior Vitreous Detachment" it's like a nasty floater or a bug crawling on your glasses lens. very annoying and tiring as your brain is always trying to correct for the distortion.. all seems to be improving over the last day or so :whoohoo: and things should return to normal,, thinking of vision issues I did buy a safety shield with a drop down tinted visor for the casting work. (ps it's been to hot around here to think about casting, days of 95-102) a friend offer me a box of books for a great price so my library in both model engineering and boats got a good add,, old cool stuff.. :cartwheel:  hopefully back at some shop work next week..
