And with wax, you can add a little back if you take too much off somewhere?

It is the journey that matters, not the destination

Sometimes, it can be a long and winding road

After all this work on the wax, am I right that you only get one chance to mould from it?

busy week with that work crap.. but did get the propane tank to test fired the furnace to check for operation, also to thermal cycle a bigger crucible.. the burn-out kiln was run with the break-in program, glad I set it up outside as they were very correct in saying it will smoke during the first run.. shooting to do a casting run next week.. Slim stayed well away saying that he likes his shape just fine.

When you're burning wax, or anything else, out of the investment it will smoke every time you do that won't it?  You'll be burning the pattern material in a limited oxygen environment and that's going to make smoke/soot isn't it?  I've seen an exhaust hood over most of the burnout ovens I've seen.

this was the empty break-in burn, I do plan on smoke for the wax burn-outs (will do a steam-out to remove the bulk of the wax before the kiln) neat little tool today, a wax melt pen, think micro spot welding.. great for tacking small parts together..
