Beautiful work as always, Pavel.  The whole plant is most impressive.

I am another always particularly  impressed by your valves, they look fabulous

Thanks also for the detail of the sight glass.  That method solves some of the alignment problems as well as structural strength of the more common two part designs.

PS, don’t worry about your English, we will understand what you mean.

I admit, I can't run a steam injector on the model .... it worked as it should twice, but then nothing  Pavel

hello everyone, do you have experience with this steam injector? I have it on a steam boiler and it only worked once, pressure 4Bar ..... maybe it will want more pressure? or 4 mm tubes?

Hi Pavel,

The injectors have a small opening in the nozzle, possibly it got clogged. If it cannot get enough flow through the nozzle to draw water through the side opening, it won't work. Or the check valve at the opening to the boiler is jammed shut. Do you use distilled water? Minerals in the water can accumulate and clog the openings. Soaking the injector and valve in vinegar can clean them up

there will be a problem in the check valve, always use distilled water ...... thank you for your reply

great work with this engine, very realistic.
with this tiny injector, most probably the temperature is to high to function properly; no condensation occurs, and the injection fails.
may be the injector is too close from the boiler, or heated by the copper pipes, or the water from the tank is too hot.

In short the Giffard injector functions as follows :
The velocity of the steam jet draws water from the tank by Venturi effect. The steam mixes to water and condenses, and the resulting heated water jet is accelerated in a converging nozzle.
The water jet then enters a diverging nozzle, which causes the jet to slow down and creates a pressure rise (which depends on the jet's speed and density; that is the water density now, not of the steam, which is where the genius of the process lies !), the water jet is then at a higher pressure easily above boiler pressure, and passes through an inlet valve and fills the boiler...
