And the neighbors behind your house learn not to use thier dining room when your window is open....   :o

The life expectancy of the vermin went up when the neighbour decided to put up a greenhouse the other side of my Laurel hedge  :disappointed:

I do have an air rifle, two in fact, a .22 and a ,177, in France.  If we ever get back over there I will have to bring them back and then learn to shoot them!  Trouble is I am a softie and don't want to just 'wing' a vermin, but perhaps Jo's tactic of just producing it for them to see will do the trick.  Maybe.

I have some old 5 gallon plastic oil drums that I put out when I get a pigeon problem. If, when the pigeons come visiting, they get near the drum it is relatively easy to hit it and of course it makes a very loud noise from a direction they were not expecting so it can be several days before they return

I did tail feather one of the pigeon's and because of that I can recognise it  Now I know it is the one that walks up and down the ramp in the garden playing peek-a-boo with me hoping to pinch some of the bird seed that has fallen off the bird feeder. It gets to the top, sees me and turns round and walks rapidly half way down and remembers there was food up there, turns round and back it comes for another peek round the bushes to see if I have gone. This repeats until I finally step outside - it gave me something to do during lockdown while trying to eat my breakfast ::)

I did vaporise one tree rat many years ago with my old .410 shot gun  :naughty: Thanks to the licensing problems I don't have those any more  :disappointed:

Jo,      I think the oil drum trick is brilliant. I could not hit a barn door at ten paces.

It is the journey that matters, not the destination

Sometimes, it can be a long and winding road

No, I can't even say that I ever have seen any besides in your pictures .... but I must say that they look very nicely done, so somebody put in an effort .... and that reminds me - did you ever discover who put them there ...?

I think we better be careful how we respond to this in case someone wants a cutting of our not "pink" white Bonfire Cacti and it is not big enough yet

Well done Dave first flower of the year
