What is it ?
« on: July 16, 2016, 09:38:59 PM »
Hi everybody,
I have a coworker who cleans up houses for an auction. Sometimes he brings things in to see if we know what they are. So here is the last gadget he brought in.

The second photo says Tips Tools 1725. Does anyone have a clue what this is. I googled it and found nothing.

It is a high voltage line tap. Used for linking wires/conductors up a power pole.

Tom,
That was fast. So it would be in a lineman's tool box. Thanks, I will tell my coworker. I suspect when he finds out it will be scrap metal. :(

I would have guessed a hi tech thumbscrew, the line tap makes more sense!

Yep that is where you would find them.
Used many of them in my time.
Been a Liney for more years than I want to think about.
