Two fabulous displays

1. History of Steam Engines - lots of historic pieces and smaller scale models showing evolution of steam engines

2. How did we get here ? Cant remember the exact words - big display showing evolution of tools, a lovely big old simple metal lathe 200 years old and Troughtons Dividing Engine were the highlights for me before a bomb scare got everybody kicked out.

Going back again in a couple of weeks.

Sounds like a nice outing up until the bomb scare. Did you get any pictures??

I love going there  :Love: The marine engine section has some wonderful models too.

sadly Simon , no more. The exhibition was taken down a few years ago. I think where it was there's now a section on the history of farming.

Well worth popping across the road to the V&A  It's a wonderful museum with some fantastic examples metalwork (check out the full-size group of lions modelled in Silver! and the quality of the middle-eastern goldsmith work)
