Hall sensor/triggers

The OH090U sensors at Digikey are now over $7.00 apiece . Is there a cheaper alternative or will I need to just bite the bullet and get them.

I am electronical illiterate so the data sheets and such are just so much nonsense to me. Sorry.

The cheapest I could find @ DigiKey is US2882KUA-AAA-000-SP for less than $1.
It is slightly more sensitive to the Magnetic Field - but I doubt that this will make much difference ....

S-5742NBL2B-Y3Z2U is the last of the cheap ones I will suggest - as the rest are much sensitiver (will 'See' the Magnet further away).

Think I'll get 1 of the high priced ones and 4 or 5 of the cheaper ones and see what happens.

Go to the Jameco Electronics website and look up Hall Sensor.
The prices start @ 59 cents each.
