Some more progress on the cylinders. Got my tool to cut well but grind it a bit to small so it been 15 grooves instead of 14 :)

Nice build! A few questions:
- did you use the (I think specified?) 12L14 leaded steel for cylinders, or different metal?
- what did you end up using for a grooving tool for fins?
- are these cylinders already lapped/honed to final dimension, or that stage is coming later?

Hi peertha.
The steelspec in sweden is not the same at all I think.
I bought a bar that called comprimated axel here.
It turns very nice but  think thats ok to use most of steels.
In my inline six I made the liners of some steelpipe and it runs greater more it runs.
For finning I first grind off a ss 10mm square turning steel to about 0.59mm
I broked it off when I had 2more cyliders to fin.
When I grind off a ss partingblade instead on one side, it goes faster to grind off
Because it it thinner and I am lazy.
I turned all liners in the last pass with the same setup in the lathe to about 0.997-0.998 final lapping to 1" is remaining.

Some more have been done.
Ģot the cylinders threaded and start fighting with the heads.
1 and a halv day just to prepare the blocks and rough mill the downends.

Ove-

Amazing work thus far.  It would take me twenty years to make the progress that you have on this engine.

Thank you all that hanging on here😊
Well now all holidays are over and the build would slow down a bit.
Still have to work at least 10 years more before I can build engines all days😉

I like the dark color of your cylinders. How did you do that?

Hi boys!
Thanks Bill, Mike, Peter..

Peter, the cylinders are still just shiny it must be the light that they look dark.
I am going to try blueing them with Gunblue I bought on Ebay but thinking about a
the best way to degrease them ok before. A test on tool CH2 get flamey that I wiped off with aceton before.
