Hi Jason,

A lovely job you have done on building this engine. Have you flown it in a model yet? If so how does it compare performance wise to say an OS LA 46? I fly rc planes and I have been thinking about building one of these if it performs well enough to use in a model. 

A friend of mine has recently scrapped and OS AX 55 because the liner is shot and a new OS liner and piston set is too expensive relative to a new engine for him to consider it a viable repair option, so I have his worn out engine and am going to try an experiment and use the firefly materials spec of en8 and cast iron to build a new liner and piston set and see if I can make a viable engine with it.

I don't intend to fly mine but apparently the ones that have been flown perform well, the guy who designed it writes for RCM&E and has in in one of his planes.
