High speed image capture for your android phone
« on: March 02, 2014, 12:36:39 AM »
Well...it is a tool!......

I needed to see what was going on with my son's Race truck shocks last weekend as I was trying different prototype shock pistons and I wanted to see the effects.    I did a google search and found this app....for free.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hantor.CozyCamera&hl=en

I can get 30 frames per second....not fast for a high speed camera....but instructive none the less

Might be useful on an model engine...

Interesting Dave.. and since I have a new Android phone I may give it a try. Did you create an animated GIF for the shocks that you could share?

OK...all I can do is export each photo in a series.   In this case, it was 4 pictures with frame speed of 2sec/50 frames or .04 sec each.

I've attached each one below...if you download them and then view them in windows photo viewer, you can sequence them and see the motion.

The application will let you play back one frame at a time...but exporting is a pain....though I may try the paid version and see if it has a better export functionality.
