I recently purchased these two and find them fascinating. They are American, written at the start of the electronic (DRO, CNC) era, showing full size production and toolroom practice. There are also a few pictures of model engineering castings being machined.

If you want to mill a tapered helix or a spiral face cam this is the book for you.
