Thanks Jo, that is the little fellar in the same packaging I started with. I still say the first casting that came in the kit was head and shoulders above the replacement that I bought after the boot stomping episode :lolb:. Just because and for, when I have time I'm gonna try the same spot on the "kit casting". Thanks for letting them know. If they can't fix it, maybe they could give us " intermediate" builders a heads up when they print the notes.

I'm not sure if the finished engines or the raw castings are more lovely. While the engines are beautiful, the castings have the promise of future joys.

Quiet a collection there Jo, and I do like your photos. Are you planning on making another VDH? I see a set of casting. Hemingway didn't attend this year because the are marketing by email and offering 10 to 15 % of through October. You could get some riser plates.

Bill: I posted the pictures of the haul here: http://www.modelenginemaker.com/index.php/topic,2557.msg44282.html#msg44282

The two large heavy bits are the flywheel and winding drum for the steam plough. The smaller three are a set of GHT Dividing head castings. Yes I know I have a GHT dividing head and it is very good. But mine was a home made welded up steel one without the tailstock and for £15 I now have the possibility of completing the set. (I would need to make a matching tailstock and the main head to ensure they are the same height  ;) )

Jo

Thanks for the pictures I didn't get. Pity I didn't get to catch up with you but I didn't think going up to every good looking lass and asking "are you Jo" was going to work. Especially as I had the missus in tow. That said she was enthusing about the exhibits and encouraging me to spend money so I can't complain.

regards

Pete

You just had to look for the good looking lass weighed down with castings - that narrowed the choice considerably!
