Hi Steve,
Being following your build, amazing, is about all I can say. Not sure if its just me but all your photos have "Photobucket" "Look who's" popular" instead of those great photos, the moves seem OK. Have check on both a iPad & windoz machines, same issue.

Cheers Kerrin

I have the same Steve and that's after modifying things to 10 messages as you suggested. Maybe my PB account is the problem?

Best Regards
Bob

The bandwith is zeroed out on my sign up anniversary which is the 6th. Then the pictures reappear and the count starts climbing. I have no doubt that you changing to 10 has helped and will continue to help myself and everybody else who's threads you look at. I am going to keep an eye on it thru out the month and see what happens.

Got the drive snout done. I recycled the prototype by shortening it up and re-boring the bearing pocket.

Well i'm done for the day.

The adjusting bracket I had made long ago. All I had to do is drill and tap the threads and then slit it so it would snug down on the snout. Then I threaded it so the idler wheel pin would thread into it. The idler pin I cheated a little and used a piece of 9/32 hex bar I had on hand. The idler wheel itself is to the drawing. Alignment looks very good with the crank pulley. I need to get a belt so the pictures will be much cooler.

Nice work Steve!

I have been patiently waiting for the pictures to reappear; and it has been worth the wait.

:whoohoo: the pictures are back!!    Steve.  Still loving the work. I was going to show my Dad your build but no pictures  :'( that day. He was telling me how he use to fit the rotary screw blowers in days of old.... slowly with feeler gauges!

Cheers Kerrin

The blower unit itself is 99% done. I still have to make gaskets. I think I'm going to try to make the air scoop next. What I think and what I do is sometimes 2 different things but for now that's the plan. I am working on getting the belt length nailed down. Soon the belt will be in the pictures.

Hi Steve

How much clearance do the rotors in the blower have? I don't know much about these things but I seem to remember that the top fuel guys run some kind of plastic wiper for pretty much 0 clearance.

I wonder how much clearance is allowable to still build some pressure? If it comes from a blower is it still called boost or is that only a turbo thing?

Anyway it sure looks nice!

Dave

I was shooting for .005 and hoping for .010. The clearance in a real blower i couldn't tell you. Mine had no teflon and made 10.5 lbs boost. The teflon is for the racers who want big boost. Top fuel engines make 50lbs per rules. I'm sure they would go more if rules were changed.
