Having vented my spleen after the hit & miss mess up.

Easy peasy  :ShakeHead: I'll just part off the 5 bosses for the boiler. 1 OK 2. Bang Crash Duck as the remnants of the parting tool traveled past my left ear, just under the speed of sound.  :censored:

And so ended another day in downtown Port Adelaide.  :wallbang:

Think I'll take up knitting.

Then again..............maybe knot (used because several items were knotted today).

Best Regards
Bob

OH man!  Sorry to hear its not well on the parting too front as well!

Sounds like a lock on the door and a pause for a refreshing libation is in order.  Go back on a better day....this one ain't it!

Be very careful. There are days when even knitting needles can be dangerous. Find a quiet place.

Thanks here as well.  :praise2:

I must admit that 1 or 3 brandies provided some solace to my shattered ego tool. :LickLips:

Nothing wrong with knitting, very therapeutic . I hand knit all my workshop jumpers  ;D.

Can you tell Galina the bread is excellent . There is only one problem I can see with it. it is going down much faster than my bread normally does, I am not sure if it will last the day let alone to Sunday ;).

Sounds like you had a real bummer of a day in the shop Bob...

One of those days you should rather have stayed Holme  :insane:

Kind regards, Arnold
Building an engine takes Patience, Planning, Preparation and Machining.
Procrastination is nearly the same, but it precludes machining.
Thus, an engine will only be built once the procrastination stops and the machining begins!

Sorry to hear of your mishap Bob, glad you didn't get hurt at  least. Tools are recoverable where our body parts are not so recoverable. Usually a couple of good beers sooo.....ths the Soul and calms the nerves.

Thanks to you all for your commiserations, support and libation suggestions.  :praise2:

Today was a GOOD day. Mind you 1st up came an oil and filter change on the car. I refuse to pay over $200 for the so called service centre to do this, especially when it's usually a 1st year apprentice who gets the job.

I parted off the rest of the major bosses and am now making the bosses for the glass and pressure gauges. It takes a while to mill the 8.75" dia curve in them and with the boring tool set at 4.375" radius it's a slow old process. So slow in fact my right leg went to sleep  ::)

Best Regards

Love the blackboard ;) .

Jo, That's a very old fashioned way of describing a digital calculator with non volatile RAM.

To explain.......it's named a digital calculator because it requires at least one digit to operate it.................the RAM is non volatile because chalk in not flammable, the RAM is sent to the recycle bin using a duster. To empty the recycle bin use a wet duster.

Hi All,

It's been a while but progress has been made!!

We have a datum

Using said datum to get a right angle, hopefully 900

Finding the Centre

Drilling the steam and water offtakes

A mock up of the steam and water offtakes

That's it for now!

I hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful, happy and safe festive season.

Best Regards
Bob
