2.22 cu.in. Hit-n-Miss can crusher

The 40:1 ratio gear box is from a conveyor found at the local scrap yard. The aluminum cams are one bolt hole out of phase to lessen the power required to crush and also allow one can to fall through the exit hole before the other. Home-made universal and ABS/acrylic planetary designed with 2-D and 3-D cad.  :atcomputer: If their hands are on the disc they won't be getting crushed in the compartment. Coleman fuel with tcw3 lubes the piston o-ring. 1-1/4 bore and 1-13/16 stroke . Old school GM points/condensor/coil fired by NiMh r/c battery seemed to be the simplest and cheapest for my first timer engine design. Thats what was in my '67 ChevyII-283. Autolite plug from Walmart. Oil-lite bronze bushings throughout. Exchanged the brass gears for helical ABS units made in a 3-D prototype machine for more quiet operation. Crushes "tall-boys" too. Thanks for your interest.

Interesting design Rick. When you can, please post an introduction in the welcome section and tell us a little about yourself, your interests, and maybe even your shop. Meanwhile, welcome to MEM.

Welcome!  Always cool to see a small engine earning its keep in the shop.  Great design.
