My Emma Victoria from the current ME issues.
« on: May 17, 2013, 06:00:25 PM »
This is another project of mine, saves me from getting bored with the diesel. :-\
I will just post a bunch of pics, feel free to ask questions if you have any.
Keep in mind my access to a waterjet cutter, so there are many pieces that are produced that way. I am a die hard barstock/sheet steel man.

I started out with nothing, I still have most of it left.

Next came the slide valves, and the pistons. I wasn't taking many pics at first, but I am getting better.

The cylinder drain cocks were next. They are now finished and installed.

Last installment in ME was the Motion plate mountings. The dialogue said to" draw, chain drill, cut and file to shape". The 85000psi drill/knife/file did this for me. :Jester:

That's looking good too. I don't know the loco, but the cow catcher gives an old west flavour. It looks to be an 0-4-0, probably too unstable for old lines. Great having the machinery available.

Hugh.

Thanks for he comments. The cow catcher is my own design and idea. I come from Queensland Australia, and all the locos had them. I am trying to make it look like an old sugarcane train type loco.

I do enjoy seeing loco builds.
And yes...that cowcatcher caught my eye too. Nice!
