Model steam boat.
« on: May 03, 2026, 06:56:34 PM »
I'd long had the idea of equipping my steamboat with a gas regulator for the gas burner. I bought the device from a Chinese seller. I was initially skeptical about whether it would work well.

But it works very well, and I had to visit the small lake nearby.

Thank you very much. It was a lovely afternoon and both boats were back in the water after more than 10 years.

A nice day for 'Messing about on the river' as the song goes!  ;D A fantastic looking boat and engine combo - the captain looks very jolly, has he been at the rum ration?
Best regards

Sanjay

Hi Michael,

Fantastic boat and unusual so gets my vote 😁

With the gas regulator if it’s the microcosm cylinder type with diaphragm then order up some 0.5 mm silicone sheet to replace the rubber diaphragm! The rubber fail’s pretty quick and the regulator effectively always stays in full open position …

Thanks for the heads-up. I was wondering why there were two spare seals in the packaging.

The steamboat is a product of my imagination. It doesn't have a direct model. It could be one of those island supply ships from the coast.
