MEM at MMEX 2026
« on: March 02, 2026, 04:10:07 PM »
Hi all,

This year, it has fallen to me to arrange MEM's exhibits at the Midland Model Engineering Exhibition, 2026.

MMEX runs for four days from Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th October. As I understand it at the moment, we can display static exhibits indoors, and - subject to H&S declarations - running exhibits out-doors. Although this is all very new to me, so I'm learning as I go (with massive thanks to Mike aka Vixen, who's helping me to ask the right questions...)

Would you like to exhibit your engine(s)?

We'd love to have them! Please let me know by PM, or via the "Contact" form (menu item at the top of the screen, 3rd from the right). I'd very much appreciate it if you could include your real name (and forum name, if you're using the Contact form), email address, and a telephone number.

As I understand from previous years, finding someone to "man the stand" for the full 4 days has proven problematic in the past: So... to avoid this, I'll make myself available for the full 4 days. Since I don't have any engines of my own to exhibit - if anyone would like to display an engine but can't make it to the show, and is willing to trust me with it's safekeeping - please also let me know. I'll either arrange to collect/return it in person at some point before/after the show, or we can figure something out between us I'm sure.

More info will be added here and/or on the Announcement thread as I get it.
Cheers,
Ade

Thank you AdeV for taking over the arrangements for this years show.
One point of clarification.
As with previous years, we can run 'well mannered' engines on the stand. However, very noisy engines and aircraft engines will need to be run in the outdoor enclosure.
