Twin cylinder engine
astroud:
This model was inspired by the Travis design but not wanting to leave well alone I decided to make a few changes. After some thinking I thought I could manage with a single port for both inlet and exhaust and also I could do away with valve springs by having the inlet to the valve block coming in on top of the spool so air pressure on the spool would keep in the eccentric. Then just to be different I used a 90 degree crankshaft.
When it came to the first run it would not keep turning but I could feel the pulses. After a lot of adjustments I bit the bullet and made a new 180 degree crankshaft and a bigger flywheel and now it is a sweet runner.
Now what to do with the first crankshaft

I like it! Proper chuffing sound and running very sweetly
Did you make the brass elbow in the supply pipe? I meed to make something along those lines for my upcoming project.

Hi Paul
No I did not, I purchased on the bay as a fuel line accessory, it came with barbs to push into flex tubing but I cut those off then drill out to suit the brass pipe.
Same with the T piece at the other end.
