A Stuart Williamson build

Sanjay F:
I have just noticed something on your engine which I encountered and corrected (see photo). If you look at the angle of your drive belt its angled downwards from the governor so what I did make a spacer to make it horizontal (see 2nd photo). I'm not sure if this is causing the issue you are experiencing but worth taking a look?

Sedbergh41:
Sanjay. I solved the slipping belt problem by making a new drive pulley from steel being very accurate on the shape and size of the belt groove. I then had a real battle getting the valve timing right as I had chosen not to drill holes in the column for the lower valve chest cover bolts. Finally got it right and it is running quite sweetly. Just need to prepare and fix the nameplate and i will post a video.

Sanjay F:
That's really good to hear, I'm glad you got it sorted. I decided not to drill the holes in the column too, I didn't really see the value of it as once the timing is sorted not really a great need to be remove it on a model engine! Looking forward to seeing the final result.......
