Elmers scotty , 2x scale
« on: December 26, 2025, 01:41:10 PM »
Built this couple years ago, never could get it to run. Talking to a couple people at our show, I finally figured out, these need a HEAVY flywheel,  I personally thought the flywheel I grabbed was stupid to big......nope, runs smooth as glass on about 12psi. I personally don't think that's bad for an engine with ¾ inch bore, it uses a big volume of air.
The flywheel,  the cylinder & the yoke were finished with "cold blue"

Love the 2x Elmer's models!
The parts are easier to make when you have old eyes like me :)

Good to see/hear it working.  It's not a favorite for me, but that's the anal efficiency-loving engineer talking...
