Eine Dampfpumpe or a steam pump

<< < (3/17) > >>

Sanjay F:
Thanks Roger & Michael

That's amazing he does it from his garage; the castings look high well designed and good quality. I can see how he has taken the best elements of each of the engines in the pictures and merged them into his design, very clever

Annoyingly the bits I've ordered have a delivery date of Jan 5th, I should've looked more carefully before pressing the 'buy' button ::).

Jasonb:
There looks to be a reasonable number of parts there that could be done without being able to thread/tap though possibly not enough to keep you going until the 5th.

Maybe put it to one side and squeeze in another project until the tools arrive.

steamer:
I'd love to see this pump driven off the front of a steam launch engine.

Love the design

Dave

Sanjay F:
I thought I'd start on the 'largest' and most complex bit first which is the pump body; if this goes wrong all the other pieces are a little unnecessary  ;D

Interestingly the drawings do not give the the vertical and horizontal distances which I've indicated with red arrows, however, the casting has indents on it marking the positions

Michael S.:
I'm familiar with that from my hand pump and generator. However, these markings are very precise, and I suspect he did it because a specific measurement isn't crucial here.
