Great  pictures, thanks for sharing  them!  That slew engine would make a great model. The spool valve for the throttle is set up just like most ship deck winches, with the wide pipe down to the steam chest having two internal  passages, one steam, one exhaust, the valve switching which is which for direction of spin. Nice!
