Hello from a LEGO engine builder
« on: February 06, 2026, 04:47:04 PM »
Hey everyone,

My name is Noah and I'm in North Carolina in the stock car capital of the world. I am not the type of model engine maker that most people here are. In my professional life, I have worked as an engineer in a NASCAR engine department, but my passion is in building LEGO engines and advocating for the community of mostly teenagers who build them.

Here's a link to my latest YT video of my SOHC LEGO engine: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/SXvISP8FQxc

And here's a history video for anyone interested in learning more about LEGO engines: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9DdaT5v170

That's a bit about me! Thanks for letting me be a part of this online community!
I joined this forum inspired by a fellow LEGO engine builder because I have a dream of seeing the LEGO engine building hobby grow through the mentorship of engine enthusiast veterans who have "been there done that" albeit with a different medium than LEGO.
Have you ever heard of a LEGO vacuum engine?

Welcome to the forum!

That's a mighty nice engine you made there!

I was deeply involved in the AFOL seen many years ago (like 20 years ago?) Still have a ton of brick and love to play from time to time. I was mostly into buildings and trains, but enjoyed it all.

Nice to see the work you've done there!

Roger, I have connected with dudeface on a LEGO engine Discord server and in YouTube comments before. He was the one that made me aware of this forum so thanks to him!

Kim, that's great to hear. LEGO trains are really cool, and I used to do HO scale model trains which was lots of fun.

55fairlane, that's awesome! I am still very new to the industry, only a couple of years out of college, and before that I didn't grow up with exposure to stock car racing. Now that I say that I probably gave the wrong impression mentioning it twice in my introduction, but oh well. Still a cool connection nonetheless. I work for a fittings and lines supplier now, but would love to get back into engines professionally again.
