That's a lot of pinion!  Which means you're half way done, since you'll likely need a larger wheel to pair up with each of those pinions!

Of course, you've already gotten 3 wheels done, so 7 more to go?

Um, yeah, err,  wait...
clomp...
clomp...
clomp...
clomp...

Yes! seven more!      The escape wheel was cut on the CNC, though it needs a little filing on the teeth where the tabs to hold it from the larger plate were. So, 7.1 to go!

Oh, and I was running my Kearsarge deck winch engine yesterday, the one with the large worm gear driven chain drums. With it ticking over slowly, I grabbed the worm gear in one hand, other bracing the base, and I tried to stop it. I couldn't even make the engine sound like it was working hard! Amazing how much power two 1-1/2" pistons give with a  102-tooth worm wheel!  It could EASILY wind this clock, even with both spring drums.

There you go!  You can repurpose the Kersage deck winch to be your winding engine!

That sounds like a great idea!

Worlds largest clock winding key. And it can get you out of harbor too!

      The cries from the shop elves yelling "avast winching there!" and "drop that stopper you swab!" might take away from the enjoyment / serenity of the clock a bit...

Got the last of the thin gears done. Here are a couple on the depthing tool, put them on there to test how well everything is meshing. Quite well, no slop in the mesh, and a flick kof the finger sends it around several times, that will do nicely!

Here is the collection so far...

This morning I started in on the first of the thicker gears, which are the ones closer to the spring drums along the horizontal crossbar. This one is the 80 tooth one that will be on the shaft right above the spring drums:

and that one complete...

There is one more 80 tooth gear just like it, then two 72 tooth ones and then the two 90 tooth gears that attach to the spring drums. Those last two sets are being done last since they need a different post size on the arbor - I am cutting all the ones with the 1/4" holes, then will step the arbor end down for the final gears. Another day or two should see all the gears cut!

What a beautiful gear 👍
Thanks  Michael,  I  tried to make it look like a vintage style gear.

The CNC did a great job on those gear spokes.

As usual, I don't look in for a week and there you are, well into another fine project!!

Between you and Kim, your clocks are making me want to do another one. I just need to dust off the 3d printer and get some filament.

I'll have to import some shop elves though as mine all left home!

Cheers

Maybe design one up as some sort of engine with pistons going round with the second hand?

I am thinking of a 21 day run time with a moon phase dial.  Maybe
