Land Rover rebuild
samc88:
Just wondering if there would be any interest on a rebuild thread for my land rover (the one in my avatar) on here? If so then I will do a thread, I have turned 30 this year and KEJ turns 50 so it is time for its rebuild on a galvanised chassis. KEJ is a 1975 series 3 land rover which has lived its entire life in North West Wales. Had her 17 years this year and its my forever car so I am also upgrading to a 300tdi engine from a discovery at the same time as the chassis swap. If people are interested I'll put some pictures up on here.
CI:
I would like to see the work.
I am contemplating rebuilding a 12 year old car, since I don't care for all the electronics in the new ones.

While it is not a model engine Sam please post away here in Chatterbox... I am sure others would be interested.
It always amazes me how so many hobbies use the same sort of (mental and hand) skills as we do making our models. I would tell you about the over laps between Japanese Embroidery and quilting with making model engines but I think that would be taking it too far
Then there is working in the Brown stuff :paranoia:  :lolb:

Thanks both, I thought I would ask just in case. Hopefully the new chassis turns up next month, the engine is done and building up a gearbox tomorrow. I will start posting pictures once the proper work starts
Jim:
I have a '66 Series 2A that needs its rusty firewall replaced, so I would be interested.
